My Journey into Landscape Design
My journey began when the company I worked for decided to expand and needed more design work. They asked me to step in, and before long, I discovered a passion for creating outdoor spaces. Over the years, I’ve gained valuable knowledge about plant materials, understanding what works in various settings, and mastering the processes for completing landscape projects efficiently.

Designing with Purpose
When I approach a project, I always think about two perspectives: the client’s vision and the crew’s practicality. By considering how a project will be installed, I ensure the designs are not only functional but also realistic and efficient to execute. This balance helps deliver an accurate design, pricing, and an outcome that exceeds expectations.

The Client-Centered Process
Every client is unique, so I start each project with an open mind. I ask questions about what they want to achieve, their favorite colors, and how much maintenance they’re willing to take on. From shaping beds for easier mowing to incorporating seasonal planting areas or low-maintenance shrubs, my goal is to craft designs that bring year-round beauty while respecting the client’s time and effort.

A Memorable Project
One project that stands out was for a client recovering from surgery who could no longer tend to her gardens. Her pollinator beds were overrun with weeds and lacked structure, but she had a solid base of plants. I worked with her initial vision, rearranging her existing plants by color and function, and added new features to enhance underutilized areas. Together, we created a harmonious and meaningful garden that reflected her love for pollinators while making sense of the space.

What I Find Rewarding
Collaborating with clients is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. I love presenting options during the design process because it sparks conversations and helps narrow down their true vision. It’s all about creating something personal that we’re both excited about.

Blending Hardscapes and Softscapes
I enjoy combining hardscape elements with softscape designs for a perfect balance of function and aesthetics. Whether it’s a well-placed boulder, a retaining wall with colorful plantings, a dry creek bed with grasses, or a patio with raised beds, these features create spaces that are both practical and visually stunning. The challenge of integrating these elements is always worth the reward.

Crafting Spaces to Enjoy
At the heart of my designs is the desire to create outdoor spaces that clients can enjoy for years to come. By listening to your ideas and bringing in my expertise, we can work together to make your landscape truly unique and perfectly suited to your needs.
